Tarcisio Barreto is a young trumpet player from Barquisimeto, Venezuela. He studied at the Vicente Emilio Sojo Conservatory of music, an educational center that is part of the System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras of Lara. He is a member of the Lara Brass Ensemble, with which he has toured nationally and internationally (Portugal in 2008 and Spain in 2009).
Barreto began his trumpet studies under the guidance of Gary Nuñez and Alfredo D’Addona. In 2010, he entered the Latin American Trumpet Academy, where he studied with Giancarlo Castro and Francisco “Pacho” Flores. The Venezuelan musician has attended trumpet courses at Epsival in 2010 and the Spanish Brass Festival in 2011, where he studied with Franc Pulcini, Pierre Dutot, Thomas Gansch, Thierry Caens, Jean François Dion, Guillaume Couloumy, Juanjo Serna, Carlos Beneto, and Luis González.
He is currently doing a university degree in trumpet performance at Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, in the city of Barquisimeto, Venezuela. He is also a member of the trumpet section of the Youth Orchestra of Lara and the Lara Symphony Orchestra.
